Powder Brow reflecting results immediately after

Powder Brow (also known as powder brow tattoo or brow tattoo or microshaded brows) is a semi-permanent make-up procedure for eyebrow enhancement in which the artist inserts pigments into the top layers of the skin with a tattoo machine designed  using the dotting technique, or pixelization.

As a result, a powdery eyebrow effect is achieved, and misty, powdered brows are created. The whole procedure is a two-step process, and it consists of the initial insertion of the pigment and the touch-up that takes place 6 – 8 weeks after the initial procedure.

Powder brows create the desired fullness of your eyebrows in a bespoke arch shape that best suits your facial features and brings out your natural beauty.

Healing Process

It’s very important to know that the result of the treatment is determined by many different factors, such as medications, skin characteristics (if it’s oily, sun-damaged, particularly thick or thin), your skin’s unique pH balance, alcohol intake, smoking, and the post-procedure aftercare.

You will most likely experience swelling and redness after the procedure. This should subside within 4 days after the procedure, but this is individual.

It’s also important to note that the result will look approximately 50% darker than the desired effect, and it will take 4-10 days for it to lighten. The true colors will be visible only 1 month after the procedure.

In the healing of powder brows scabbing is the most annoying stage for most clients. We cannot stress enough how important it is for you to avoid picking at the scabs at all costs, as this can cause unattractive patchiness. You need to see each of the powder brows healing stages through and let the skin recover. Once you see your brows healed, you’ll forget all about the agony of aftercare

A typical appointment will involve the following steps:
1. Discuss Service

First, we will talk about your expectations, aftercare, the procedure, and the healing process.

2. Map

We will map your brows to resolve any asymmetry, lengthen your brows, create an arch , and enhance shape to appear fuller. Once approved we will begin the procedure.

3. Begin Service

We will begin the procedure according to the mapped shaped. Expect 3-4 passes and after each pass a numbing agent is applied for comfort.

  • Do not work out the day of the procedure.
  • Gently scrub brows before day of service
  • Do not tan or have sunburned face.
  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil or Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure.
  • No alcohol or caffeine 2 days before the procedure.

Day 1

  • Oily skin cleans the skin every 30 min for the first 3 hours (total 6 times) after the procedure using a damp cotton (using clean bottled water) and washing hands before each cleaning time.
  • Dry Skin cleans every hour for the first 3 hours (total of 3 times) after the procedure using a damp cotton (using clean bottled water) and washing hands before each cleaning time.
  • Right after the LAST wipe apply a thin layer of the healing ointment (Aquaphor, Vaseline, or Coconut oil).
  • Oily Skin wash before going to bed using lukewarm water very gently removing the lymph, pat dry and apply a thin layer of ointment.
  • Dry Skin may not wash if the skin does not have visible lymph on top of the skin, just make sure your skin is moist before bed by applying a thin layer of ointment.

Day 2

If you still see lymph in the morning, wash one more time, pat dry and apply a thin layer of ointment. If no lymph then just keep your eyebrows hydrated with ointment as needed, means apply ointment only when you feel the skin is dry.

First 10 Days

  • Everyone’s skin has its own healing process and duration. It is recommended to apply ointment as long as the skin is still scabbed and even after. The ointment will help your skin regenerate faster and better.
  • Do not use makeup, cosmetic products or any cream in the area (except for the healing cream).
  • No Sauna, pool, Beach, sunbathing.
  • Avoid facial treatment that involves Massage and steaming.
  • Avoid touching the treated area, it is normal feeling itchy, do not SCRATCH at all.
  • DO NOT PEEL the scabs at all, you may cause scarring if otherwise.
  • Avoid drinking liquor.
  • Avoid excessive sweating.
  • Avoid smoking as this alters the color of the pigment.

First 4 Weeks

  • Avoid Exposure to sunlight or tanning salons.
  • Avoid chemical peelings, microdermabrasion, creams that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin.

Always avoid Laser treatments over the treated area (Fraxel, Laser, IPL) because they can destroy the pigment and cause burns.

Tips to get you through the Healing Process

Tip #1: Get informed

If you know what to expect, there will be no unpleasant surprises and you will know what to do and how to deal with all the powder brows healing stages.

Tip #2: Carefully plan the date of your powder brows treatment

Now you know how long your powder brows healing process will last and what it will look like, make sure you don’t book the appointment immediately before an important event or a special occasion. You don’t want to show up at the party with powder brows scabs above your eyes – they don’t photograph well!

Tip #3: Don’t overthink

Try not to think and obsess about your brows too much. Keep yourself busy and try to stay away from mirrors as much as possible – staring at your brows won’t make them heal faster.

Tip #4: Contact your the artist in case of uncertainties

If you have any worries or you think your powder brows healing process takes too long, contact your artist.
