Lip Blush / Neutralization FAQ
Lip blushing is a type of semipermanent cosmetic tattooing procedure achieved by depositing pigments in your lips using small needles. Lip blushing focuses on altering both color and shape to create younger-looking lips. Everyone’s lips are different, and there’s no one standard of beauty.
Dark Lip Neutralization is a specialized treatment series for those with cool or dark lips in which we neutralize the darkness in the lips to reach a desired color. We look at your lips and neutralize them by cancelling out the original color. Dark Lip Neutralization possibly will require 1 + sessions to get to a client’s target color.
This procedure may take up to four to five or more sessions, depending upon the healing results and the number of sessions it takes to neutralize the color of the skin. The process cannot be done in a single go as it causes trauma to the skin and the lips. An artist would want to limit the number of passes or pigment layers not to overwork and permanently damage the skin. Overdoing the procedure without giving the skin time to heal may end up causing even more pigmentation and injury to the lips.
Not ideal candidates may have frequent Cold Sores, on blood thinners, undergoing chemo therapy, diagnosed diabetes, diagnoses blood pressure, on medication for preexisting conditions that may affect blood(such as blood thinners) or skin, recently had injections in < 2 weeks, any retinols (Causes cell turnover), and any sun damaged skin (skin won’t retain pigment).
If any apply to you feel free to reach out with your condition, and I recommend get approval from your doctor with written consent stating per their knowledge of your condition this procedure should not cause major issues.

If you experience cold sores during menstral/stress then I highly recommend speaking with your doctor to get the medicine to help prevent any breakout when receiving Lip Blush. Some clients also have mentioned heavy dosing with L-Lysine by Nature Made extra strength 1,000mg taking 3 pills every 3 hours for several days then taking 1 daily a week in advanced and weeks after procedure to keep the virus at bay. If you have any medical conditions that you need your doctor’s approval on for taking any additional vitamins; please consult them first.Cold Sores can cause patchy discolored results if they appear during the healing process and a touch up session will be required. In the medical form you will sign off acknowledging anything outside of my control as your artist is not my responsibility to prevent. Medical conditions are your responsibility as a client and come into this process accepting and understanding this will be key in your healed results. You must be 18 years or older to receive Permanent Makeup at Tint of Beauty
The lip blush treatment isn’t exactly painful, because a topical numbing cream is applied before the needling starts. That said, it may be a bit uncomfortable, as the lip area is quite sensitive.
You might feel some light scratching, but if you feel like it’s getting painful at any point of the procedure, tell your artist. They may be able to add more numbing.
As a form of cosmetic tattooing, the lip blush treatment is done by breaking the surface of the skin and depositing color into it. But don’t worry, it’s nothing like a regular, decorative tattoo done on the body.
Permanent makeup is done with specially formulated pigments rather than ink. They can be broken down by the body and extracted, so the results gradually fade until they’re not visible anymore. So it’s not actually permanent, although it lasts a long time.
Also, cosmetic tattooing doesn’t go deep – the color is injected just underneath the surface of the skin of the lips, from where it’s slowly exfoliated as your skin goes through its natural regeneration cycle.
Using an electric needle device, the artist tattoos a million tiny dots on the lips, gradually saturating them in pigment. They will probably go back and forth in several passes, but 1 session usually lasts about an 2-3 hours depending on color mixing/mapping lips.
Depending on the desired opacity, the effects are achieved over several lip blushing sessions. If you want a sheer, transparent pop of color, 1 or 2 sessions will be enough. But if you want the color to be more dramatic, you may need some additional appointments.
Lip blushing can last anywhere from 2 to 5 years, depending on how well your skin holds pigments, how hard your system works to extract them, and your lifestyle – sunlight exposure and frequent swimming in the ocean accelerator fading, as do certain skincare products.
You can prolong the effect by getting lip blush touch ups. Most clients get them once a year.
Microblading / Powder Brow FAQ
Microblading is a form of tattoo hair like strokes on eyebrows to create realistic fluffy brows. This service is done manually by hand using a scalpel style tool. It is only good for Dry young skin but is more outdated and Nano Brows (not nano blading another form of microblading) has taken over because it uses a tattoo machine and is more precise with better healed results.
Powder brows (also known as powder brow tattoo or shaded brows) is a semi-permanent make-up procedure for eyebrow enhancement in which the artist inserts PMU pigments into the top layers of the skin with a tattoo machine designed using the dotting technique, or pixelization.
Powder Brow service will take around 2.5hours. Set a day where you don’t have much to do and can take the time for the procedure. When you come in we will chat about expectations, aftercare, then map your outline to fit your appearance; once the brow shape is agreed upon we will begin the procedure. I will numb first then let that sit for 5 minutes before starting. I typically do 4-5 passes for each brow to get the ideal results.
The pain is minimal and very tolerable. We also use topical anesthetics for our clients to have a comfortable experience
Yes it is very safe. We use pre-sterilized and disposable needles and equipment for every customer to ensure that there is no cross-contamination
Yes. Essentially, any procedure that requires breaking the skin and implanting pigment into it is considered a tattoo. Therefore, powder brow is a tattoo and is also permanent. However, just because it is permanent doesn’t mean that it doesn’t need to be maintained.
Color retention varies per person and also depends on other various factors such as: sun exposure, skin type and skin care products but if you want to maintain the shape and color, a retouch every 2-5 years would be advisable.
No. Tattoos don’t sag but our skin does. If the designed shape coincides closely with the natural eyebrow shape, your tattooed brows shouldn’t separate from the natural one and you wouldn’t end up with two eyebrows as commonly believed.
Please, read this article for more information regarding this[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How soon can I get a touchup?”]We recommend a minimum of 6 weeks after the first session to allow the skin to heal completely before another session. Forcing another session before this duration will cause a high risk for scarring
The earliest you can get a touchup is 6 weeks, it is best to wait as the skin needs to heal and color will fully bloom by the 6th week. You may experience the color lessens 40% as expected after service. Depending on your goals we can do a touchup to make them darker, however, it is easier to add color than remove. I rather have brows heal lighter than expected to not have “ANGRY BIRD” >:F eyebrows and not be able to remove the darkened pigment.
the older, first generation pigments from many years ago had the tendency of causing some brows to discolor but we use only the newest and best cosmetic tattoo inks in the market that deliver true to color results. Our artist is also very knowledgeable in color mixing which further ensures that your desired results will be met
