Everything you need to know about Henna Tint!

Henna tint, also known as henna eyebrow tinting, is a technique that uses henna dye to color the eyebrows. Henna is a natural dye that is made from the leaves of the henna plant. It has been used for centuries in various cultures for temporary body art, including tattooing and hair dyeing.

In henna eyebrow tinting, a paste made from henna powder and other natural ingredients, such as lemon juice or tea tree oil, is applied to the eyebrows. The paste is left on the eyebrows for a certain amount of time, typically 10-30 minutes, and then removed to reveal a natural-looking, semi-permanent tint.

Henna tinting is a popular alternative to traditional eyebrow tinting, which uses chemical dyes to color the eyebrows. Because henna is a natural dye, it is generally considered safer and less irritating than chemical dyes. Additionally, henna tinting can provide longer-lasting results than traditional tinting, as the henna dye can stain the skin and hair for several weeks.

Henna tinting can be a great option for those who want to enhance the shape and color of their eyebrows in a natural and non-invasive way. However, it is important to note that henna tinting may not be suitable for everyone, as some people may be allergic to henna or may experience severe skin irritation or sensitivity. It is always a good idea to do a patch test before trying henna tinting for the first time. Additionally, it is important to choose a reputable and experienced henna tinting artist to ensure that the results are safe and natural-looking.

How Long Do Henna Brows Last?

First off, it’s important to understand that henna brows give 2 effects, and those effects have different lifespans.

  • The stain on the skin can last 7-14 days (7 for most people)
  • The hairs stay tinted until they reach the end of their growth cycle, so around 6 weeks.

So technically, henna brows last for 6 weeks on the hair, but there’s a catch. Since not all brow hairs are at the same stage of the growth cycle at the moment of tinting, not all of them will fall off at the same time. You’ll lose the tinted hairs gradually, and the color will therefore gradually go back to its original shade.

This is a good thing, because your brows won’t change color overnight, but rather slowly fade back into their natural shade.

You might feel the need to color your brows with a makeup product towards the end of the 6 weeks.
